This project started with a basic exterior shell of a building. the columns located within the shell of the building could not be moved and had to remain in the space. This restaurant was inspired by the concept of rejuvenate and the theme of feng shui. Rejuvenate means to make look or feel younger, fresher, or more lively. This word helped influence not only the finishes but the overall feeling that is achieved in this design. Feng shui also played a significant role in the final design. Feng shui refers to a system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy. In a restaurant it is important for the customers to relax and feel at ease when enjoying their meal. This is done by choosing finishes that are calming in color.

In regards to the finishes the concept of rejuvenate influenced the color palette. When you think of a relaxing and calming space it is often associated with the beach. The water at the beach puts many at ease and soothes them. the colors often associated with a beach were used in this design such as blue, white, beige, and yellow. The blue represents the water and the sky, the white represents the clouds, the beige represents the sand, and the yellow represents the sun. These colors create a cohesive and calming color palette. When considering the idea of feng shui this influenced the spatial arrangement of the furniture, restrooms, reception, and kitchen areas.
